Play Cyberstud Poker for Some New Online Poker Fun

Cyberstud Poker is another new online poker game which is played between you and the dealer. It slightly resembles Blackjack from that point of view, but otherwise there is no resemblance. It is a 5-card online version of poker games which is a terrific way for poker beginners to get involved in poker games.

The objective of Cyberstud Poker is to beat the Dealer's hand. The dealer needs at least an Ace/King combination to qualify. If he doesn't qualify, you win regardless of how good or bad your hand is. Cyberstud Poker is really easy to play, so here below is a summary of what you need to do.

How to Play Cyberstud Poker

The first thing to do in Cyberstud Poker is to select your coin size and make your Ante bet. The Ante bet is one coin which is placed in the Ante circle on the table. Once you have made your Ante bet, you receive five cards - all face up. The Dealer receives only one card, also face up.

At this point in the game you must "fold" or "call". If you fold, you lose your Ante bet. The Dealer is dealt four more cards, but they are actually irrelevant. Your game is already lost and his cards are just for show.

If you have chosen to "call", you automatically have an additional bet placed in the Bet circle on the table. The Call bet is double the Ante bet. The Dealer is dealt four more cards and the hands are compared.

At this point in Cyberstud Poker, there are several possibilities:
  • If the Dealer does not qualify (remember he needs an Ace/King combination), you win even money on your Ante bet and the Call bet is returned to you (this is called a "push").
  • If the Dealer qualifies, and your hand is better, you win even on the Ante and a payout on the Call bet which is in accordance to the displayed payout table.
  • If the Dealer qualifies, and his hand is better, you lose both your Ante and your Call bet.
  • If the Dealer qualifies, and the hands tie, both the Ante and the Call bets will "push".

  • Cyberstud Poker Betting Guidelines

As in all poker games, it is a good idea to follow some kind of betting guidelines. Although in Cyberstud Poker you are not playing against other poker players, if you want to minimize losses and possibly maximize winnings, try to play as follows:
  • Call if you have a pair or better
  • Fold if you have less than an Ace/King combination
  • If you do have an Ace/King combination, you need to think about the Dealer's Up card. If the Dealer does not have either an Ace or a King, and if his card matches one of your cards, it is a good idea to Call.

  • The Cyberstud Poker Progressive Jackpot

Cyberstud Poker also has a Progressive Jackpot version. The play is the same as the regular Cyberstud Poker except that, with every hand, you must make a jackpot bet of one credit. A credit means one unit of whatever currency you are using, i.e. if you are playing in U.S. dollars, you must give one U.S. dollar to the jackpot. Your jackpot bet goes into the progressive jackpot which is unlimited.

A Royal Flush wins the entire progressive jackpot. A Straight Flush gives you 20,000 credits from the progressive jackpot, and Four of a Kind, a Full House, and a Flush also award you significant prizes. This is unique in poker games found online.

Once again Microgaming has found a way to bring fun and entertainment with its online poker games in this new poker version - Cyberstud Poker.
