In online Poker tournaments, players will find themselves suddenly immersed in games alongside many other players from all over the world. This is the beauty of the Internet in action.

In an online Poker tournament, the game will usually begin with a stack of 1500 chips. For some special tournaments - often private events - that number may be increased or decreased; either way, the relevant information will be listed in easy view on the tournament's registration specifications. The betting rules and limits also vary from tournament to tournament, as do the time intervals between bet levels. In most tournaments, this time increment in 10 minutes; however, in some tournaments, it may be as many as 15 minutes whereas in others it may be as low as 5 minutes.
